Further to consultations Derby Cityscape amended the masterplan to include the former Debehmas building and proposals include a mixed use development of commercial office space, retail and city centre apartments.
As a priority site the groud floor would be primarily retail with the upper floors commercial office space and residential units, with re-inforcement of the car parking offer to the central area.
It is stated in the masterplan that the architectural design elements should respect the scale and charated of housing along Macklin Street. Redevelopment proposals should retain direct pedestrian links between Victoria Street and Macklin Street and should respect the unique character of Green Lane.
