DERBY EMBASSY MOVES TO CANNES

Palais des Festivals
Stand number 16.18

Business leaders from Derby and Derbyshire will be showcasing opportunities at the world property show, MIPIM, including a Derby Embassy event as part of the region’s overall work to attract inward investment.

Partners from the city, including Derby Cityscape and Marketing Derby, will be strengthening the case by launching two reports – ‘Hotel Prospectus’ and ‘Derby Market Activity Report’ funded by Derby and Derbyshire Economic Partnership - highlighting the city’s economic diversity and strength with data on supply, demand, development pipeline and employment growth trends.

MIPIM will also act as a platform to launch a new vision for the emerging Riverside in the heart of the city. This vision will highlight the investment opportunities on the banks of the River Derwent and is another step forward in reinforcing Derby’s positive message in maintaining development momentum.

Marketing Derby Director John Forkin explains: “MIPIM is a hugely important date in the property industry’s calendar as it attracts all the top companies from throughout the world who are looking for up and coming areas in which to invest.

“We have made some excellent contacts in previous years which have already resulted in new investment in the city.”

Derby Cityscape Chief Executive John Cadwallader explained: “This year we plan to showcase the market strength and the potential in the city for development in the commercial property, residential, leisure and hotel sectors through the launch of the independent market activity report and visually promote a major unique selling point of the city – the River Derwent.

“We are confident that these elements, together with the overall sales message of the city and county will create even more interest in this area to potential inward investors.”

The East Midlands Apartment, located on rue des Serbes, will be the venue for two breakfast events Derby-shire Breakfast’ and ‘Derby Embassy’, with key speakers focussing on development and investment in both the city centre and the region.
