The bridge links the Green with Stuart Street.
A competition to name the new bridge was launched at the beginning of April.
A public vote on four names – Silk Mill Bridge, Cathedral Bridge, Derwent Valley Bridge and Arkwright Bridge – ran during April and May on both the Derby City Council and Derby Cityscape websites.
The mayor, Councillor Sean Marshall, will announce the winning name and local historian Richard Felix will unveil a plaque at the Bonnie Prince Charlie statue on the Green, accompanied by representatives from the Bonnie Prince Charlie Society.
