In January 2006 Derby Cityscape appointed London based Urban Initiatives with funding by DDEP (Derby and Derbyshire Economic Partnership) to prepare a Public Realm Strategy for the city centre area.
The strategy provides a co-ordinated design vision for all of the streets and spaces within the city centre as defined in the Masterplan which was published in January 2005.
The strategy aims to be ambitious and catalytic, withn the capacity to transform the city centre and enhance the unique identity of the city by providing it with the best possible public spaces.
